Heavy Lifting Capabilities

The case study below emphasises Smethwick Industrial Services heavy lifting capabilities, together with highlighting the skills of our trained staff.

This giant 3000 HP – 400Volts DC Mill Motor weighing in excess of 170 tons, was dismantled together with the 8 feet wide plate Rolling Mill it drives, by our Engineers at a location in Falkirk, Scotland. We then carried out the transportation of the entire mill with a combined total weight of approximately 1,800 tons to the Midlands.

Our Mechanical Engineers and Electrical Engineers then carried out the total reinstallation of the Rolling Mill onto its new foundation at its new site in Wolverhampton.
